When TinyTERM Plus is configured to use TN5250 emulation, if you click the Setup button and select IBM 3477-FC (27 x 132), the screen goes blank and won’t display anything. If you then disconnect and re-connect, the screen will display again, but in 24 x 80 mode even though 27 x 132 is still selected.
Also, once you’ve done this, you can’t get back to the TN5250 setup dialog. It comes up with TN3270 setup information instead.

New Session Tab
April 23rd, 2007
TinyTERM 3.3 has a (new) tab at the bottom of the emulator screen. Clicking that allows you to select and open a .tap file for a new connection.
TinyTERM 4.x does not have anything similar. You must use the Open button on the Ribbon Bar, or the Open Session option on the File menu to open a new .tpx file.

Pulse Dialing
April 23rd, 2007
TinyTERM cannot use pulse dialing to connect. It has to use tone dialing. For phone lines that require pulse instead of tone dialing, connect to the serial port and use the Hayes commands to connect. The specific command for pulse dialing is:
ATDP18012683088
Replace the telephone number as appropriate.

Customers have requested that the Ribbon Bar and menus in TinyTERM be made editable, to allow custom buttons and menu items. While the Ribbon Bar cannot be edited in TinyTERM 4.x, the menus can be edited using CScript commands.
It has also been requested that the tool bars be dockable, able to be moved to different positions in the TinyTERM window. This is not possible currently with any Century Software, Inc., product for Windows.

Configure TinyTERM for SCOANSI emulation, then connect to a SCO UNIX system. Go to a shell prompt. When you hit the Delete key, the cursor moves one position to the right on each key press. This is normal behavior, not a bug.

TinyTERM and TERM for Windows insert null characters after CR/LF pairs in transparent print jobs. This does not affect text output, but causes problems printing image files.

The TN3270 and TN5250 emulations only print in Courier New font, regardless of the font selected for screen display. This was changed in TinyTERM Plus 4.40, so that the display font would also be the font used for printing. To make this work, you must print to the Windows printer, with the Bypass Printer Drivers option not set.

The resize command is used with xterm on UNIX systems that have graphical display managers. TinyTERM does not emulate an xterm, but character-based terminals instead. Thus, it cannot respond to this or any other xterm-specific command.

When you go into Session Properties while connected via modem and click OK, you lose the connection even if you don’t make any changes. This is due to the way Windows TAPI handles modems. TAPI configures the modem dynamically. When you click OK in Session Properties, it wipes out those dynamic changes.

Instead of the ż character, TinyTERM has ź listed a second time. This is due to a bad entry in the “STD TERM TCS2” code page.
