FTP Append or Overwrite

Century Software, Inc., has had a request for an option to append to or overwrite a file of the same name during an FTP transfer. This has not been implemented thus far.

Century Software, Inc., has received a request to force the graphical FTP client to use only upper or lower case file names when transferring. This would include both options, or it could be disabled entirely.

SecureFT Shows File Size as 0 Bytes

SecureFT always shows the size of an uploaded file as zero bytes, even after refreshing the directory multiple times. The correct size appears only after leaving the directory and coming back again.

Can’t Upload Zip Files from Windows XP

Using Windows XP, SecureFT reads zip files as directories. Uploading a zip file causes a new directory to be created on the host, and the individual files in the zip are uploaded into that directory. This is directly related to XP’s ability to show the contents of a zip as a virtual directory.

NFS Can’t Save Files to AIX

When you try to copy files to an NFS drive mapped to an AIX share, you get the error, “Access denied: disk is full or write protected.” The same thing happens saving new files from a Windows application, or editing existing files on the share.

ZMODEM Disables ixon Flow Control

As soon as the download process starts, the flow control on the tty port changes. When TERM brings up its file transfer window, XON is disabled and XOFF is enabled.  This happens regardless of the tty port settings. It also ignores the settings in the .termsys file.

Using SecureFT to transfer files via FTP from the PC to an IBM 4690 server generates the error above. Below is sample text from the output log window of SecureFT:

Can’t Upload to Latest ZMODEM

Download and compile the latest version of the ZMODEM software. You can use sz to send files to TinyTERM readily.

However, uploading to rz fails. It constantly resyncs, rather than completing the transfer.
