CR 82

Directory Caused an Error with Message: “Unknown Error”

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Using the FTP protocol in SecureFT, you get the above error when uploading a .zip file over about 5 Mb in size. Other file extensions of the same size or larger transfer without problems. Downloading doesn’t generate any errors, either.

CR 666

Century FTP Plus Won’t Rename Files

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Set up an FTP session in Century FTP Plus and connect. Highlight a destination file in the graphical FTP client. Go to the File menu and select Rename. The error, “file does not exist” comes up if you try to continue.

CR 630

Cannot Read Remote Directory

Monday, April 30th, 2007

This error indicates that TinyTERM can’t get into the specified directory. This could be because the directory doesn’t exist, or because the user doesn’t have rights to access it.

Check the spelling of the directory and file name. Any typos will cause file transfer to fail.

Also check the username and password being used. If either is incorrect, or if the user doesn’t have rights to the directory in question, that will also cause file transfer to fail.

TinyTERM will also give this error if you try to download over 100 files using the FTP protocol. It will appear to transfer correctly at first, but will eventually fail. No files are actually transferred when this happens.

CR 623

DOS FTP Client Hangs After Multiple Connects

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Using Century Software’s DOS FTP client, connect to several FTP servers. Download a couple of files from each, then exit the FTP client after each connection and return to DOS. Around the 10th time you do this, the PC will hang. There is also an error on each quit or exit command:

run-time error R6001- null pointer assignment

CR 610

Graphical FTP Client in Emulator

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to incorporate a graphical FTP client into the TinyTERM emulator. This would be similar to Century FTP Plus or SecureFT. That has not been implemented thus far.

CR 48

Can’t Delete Files on VMS FTP Server

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Using the Century FTP Client to connect to a VAX FTP server, you cannot delete a file. Instead, you’ll see an error like, “Unable to delete the file %RMS-F-SYN file spec Syntax error.” Other FTP clients tested against the same VMS system can delete the same file.

CR 238, fixed in SecureFT
