Serial and Modem Connections
The TinyTERM Emulator can be used to directly connect the PC to a multi-user
system (usually UNIX). A direct connection requires a properly made cable to
connect the serial port on the PC to a serial port on a multi-user host system.
This cable is known as an RS-232 or serial cable. See The RS-232 Standard later
in this section.
Also, the TinyTERM Emulator provides automatic Hayes modem access. This means
that the TinyTERM Emulator can be allowed to provide the default
Hayes-compatible modem command codes to perform functions such as dialing and hanging up.
