Making a Direct Connection
Direct connections are the easiest to establish because the TinyTERM Emulator
only needs to open the serial port and you are connected to your remote system.
- From the Edit menu, click Session.
- If there is an entry in the Host name, IP address or phone number field, clear it. Otherwise the TinyTERM Emulator will attempt to "dial" the
contents of the field.
- Select the proper connection options:
- Under Connection Type, select RS232.
- Click the Setup… button. Depending on the type of connection you specify, the applicable
dialog displays. See Using the Available Devices Setup for detailed instructions.
- Especially check these connection options:
- Select the proper login options:
- Click the Login tab.
- Select the desired Login scheme. See Using the Login Tab for detailed instructions.
- To accept the new settings, press ENTER or click OK. To reject the new
settings, press ESC or click Cancel
- When your settings match your network requirements, click on Connect.
OR
Close the Session Properties dialog and:
- From the Session menu, click Connect.
OR
- Click Connect on the button bar.
- The TinyTERM Emulator immediately connects directly to the specified comport.
If a prompt does not appear, press ENTER once or twice and a prompt should
appear from the remote system.
